Essential Steps
To ensure the success of your vegetative project, we at
GT Hydro Seed, Inc. consider the following factors as
essential:
1.
Evaluation of the site. Every site is different;
every season has different weather associated with
it. The lay of the land including degrees of slope and
potential water flows. We evaluate the overall site for
a successful vegetative plan to stabilize your site no
matter what the season.

2.
Testing the soil. This will allow us to correct
deficiencies and imbalances by applying the proper soil
amendments and amounts.
3.
Microorganisms in the soil. Many soils used
in construction sites are sterile due to being buried
deep beneath the earth. For sustainable plant growth,
the soil must have enzymes, humic acid, and plant
hormones. We can apply organic bio-stimulants at
application rates required to make your project a
success.
4.
Balance of nutrients. We use the finest products
available, not the cheapest, to ensure proper growth of
your project.
5.
Stabilization of the soil. This is the overall goal
of the services we offer, keeping the seed and soil
amendments where we put them. This ensures the ultimate
goal of grass growth to let nature hold the ground. We
accomplish this by many techniques, including Hydroseeding applications, Cotton Fiber Matrix
materials, or the use of Erosion Control Blankets.
6.
Selection of seed. We can use your seed
specifications or help you by recommending certain seed
types. Different times of the year regulate what will
grow successfully during that period. Our climate allows
grass growth year round. It goes back to the evaluation
of the project and what the ultimate goal is. Whether it
is temporary erosion control on the job site or
permanent turf establishment we can help.
7.
Application. Hydroseeding is an obvious choice to
apply seed, mulch, fertilizers, and soil stabilizers in
a one step process. This is especially helpful on steep
slopes or inaccessible areas. We are able to shoot
mixtures in excess of 100 feet.

8.
Moisture. To sustain any plant life you must have
water. Hydroseeding increases the chance of seed
survival dramatically over dry seeding or the use of
straw. Adding copolymers into the Hydroseeding slurry
or amending it in the soil, further ensures moisture is
kept in the critical zone for germination.
What are
copolymers?
It is a super-absorbent polymer, a cross-linked
polyacrylamide (that, when watered, looks like gelatin),
holding up to 400 times its density in water. It then
slowly releases the water along with any fertilizers or
nutrients to the plant roots. The use of these polymers
can save up to 50% on irrigation. Polymers will work in
the soil for five to ten years, at which time it then
breaks down into its component parts of ammonia, carbon
dioxide, and water, with no residual toxicity.
